Home Country Environmental Effects of China's Foreign Direct Investment: Based on the perspective of regional differences
摘要
Abstract
Based on China's inter-provincial panel data from 1999-2010,this study empirically analyses the home country environmental effects of China's Foreign Direct Investment.Based on simultaneous equations and scenario simulation,the results show that:①Foreign Direct Investment has significant regional effects on the size,structure and technology mechanism.In addition,the scale,structure and technology also have obvious regional effects on industrial pollution.Based on regional heterogeneity of conduction mechanisms and terminal impact,regional model is more reasonable than the national model; ②The impacts of Foreign Direct Investment on regional environment are uncertain.There are winners and losers.The beneficial regions are always economically developed regions (for example,East China),and the damaged areas are always economically underdeveloped regions (e.g.,Northeast) ; ③The general positive mechanism are industrial structure optimization effect and reverse technology spillover effect; the general negative mechanism is the undesired conduction of technical effects and structural effects.Therefore,making economic policies to regional conditions is very significant for develooment of China's Foreign Direct Investment.关键词
