Abstract

Chlordane-contaminated soil was treated by microwave irradiation technology.According to the removal rates of α-chlordane and γ-chlordane,the optimum microwave irradiation conditions for removal of chlordane from soil were determined by orthogonal tests.The experimental results show that when the microwave irradiation intensity is 5.83 W/g,the microwave irradiation time is 20 min,and the water content of the soil is 15%,the chlordane removal rate is the best (above 85%).Microwave irradiation technology is simple,efficient,easy to control,without secondary pollution and feasible.It could be a new remediation technology for chlordane-contaminated soil.
