On the Cultural Mission of Contemporary Rural Teachers

Abstract
The depression of the vernacular culture has led to the loss of the“root”of Chinese culture. In some way, the fate of rural education is closely linked to that of the vernacular culture. The rural intellectuals have played a unique and important role in the protection and transmission of the vernacular culture. Even today, teach⁃ers in rural areas still bear a special cultural mission. Therefore, it is most urgent to cultivate a group of rural teachers that love the vernacular culture and have a good understanding of it, which is of great significance to pro⁃mote the vernacular culture and protect the spiritual home of the Chinese people.关键词
