摘要

Abstract

  This paper discusses the optimal design for the shape and size of a beverage can. First, the authors of the paper measure the parameter of size of a common beverage can, set a static optimization model, and respec⁃tively figure out the best design of the beverage can when it is shaped to be the cylinder or the combination of frustum-of-a-cone and cylinder. Lastly, the authors take account of the factors such as outline, touch, artistic and so on, set a nonlinear programming model, and use the programs MATLAB to get the best design of a new can.
