摘要

Abstract

The parallel program module of assimilation of altimeter wave measurements is developed and implanted into the full-spectral third-generation wind-wave model WAVEWATCH Ⅲ.The target computational domain is in the north of 5°S of the Indian Ocean,nested into the global implementation of the WAVEWATCH Ⅲ.Considering incoming swell forcing from exterior to the target domain at boundaries,the problem is solved well by nesting.The wave model is forced by hourly surface wind field at 10 m from the atmospheric model of WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting).In the process of model integration,wave heights measured by Jason-2 altimeter on Dec.17 th and 18 th,2010 are assimilated into the model (After each time of assimilation,the new Significant Wave Height (SWH) is used to reconstruct the corresponding two-dimensional wave spectrum).Model results of SWH with and without data assimilation are compared with the measured altimeter wave heights,respectively,which indicates that assimilation can be betters for the initial field.
