Demographic Factor, Chinese Economic Growth and Social Development
摘要
Abstract
Demographic transition in China has not only brought the decline of natural population growth rate, but also caused dramatic changes in the population aging structure, and the declining total dependency ratio created the demographic window for Chinese Economy. Based on China's demographic transition, this paper discusses the economic implications of demographic change, and verifies its influence channel and the necessary policy and institutional context. The result indicates that the overall demographic factors contributed 20.18% to China's annual economic growth rate from 1996 to 2010, which greatly depended on the implementation of favorable economic and social environment.关键词
