Skinfold thickness of Han adults from Ningxiang in Hunan
摘要
Abstract
Objective:To study the skinfold thickness of Han adults in Hunan.Methods:A random sampling method was used to study six items of the skinfold thicknesses of the facial,biceps,triceps,subscapular,suprailiac and calf on 737 Han adults (149 urban males and 170 urban females,197 rural males and 221 rural females) in Hunan.The changes of skinfold thickness of Han adults in Hunan with age were analyzed.Results:Except for the facial and biceps skinfold,the other skinfolds of females were thicker than males.There was an extremely difference in the skinfold thickness of the triceps,subscapular,suprailiac between urban and rural areas.Six items of the skinfold thickness of Han adults in Hunan became to grow thicker with age,the skinfold thickness of most people reached the maximum between the age of 30 to 49 years,and then declined slowly.Some measurement index increased in the 60-year group.The results of cluster analysis showed that the skinfold thickness of Han adults in Hunan was most closest to that Jiangxi and Southern population.Conclusion:The skinfold thickness of Han adults in Hunan is same with that of the South Asian type ethnic groups.关键词
