Abstract
This paper presents an automatic method to determine the parting line for dies.Firstly,both the edges and faces of the solid are dispersed into points.And according to a given direction of die-casting part,the discrete points are projected on the principal plane.Then the algorithm is used to compute the discrete points for achieving a outer contour.Subsequently through the points of outer contour,rays and the intersections are made so that the intersecting points of the rays and the part edges connected to the confour are obtained.Finally,the contour is calculated and evaluated to decide the optimal parting line.The test results show that the proposed method is effective and efficient in searching on the parting line of die-casting die.关键词
