Abstract
Objectives:To evaluate the esthetic outcome and patient satisfaction associated with implant single crown in the anterior maxilla.Methods:30 patients from January 2009 to December 2011 were retrospectively reviewed.30Straumann implants were inserted.After one and a half year follow-up,oral photographs were taken according to certain standards.Two observers assigned Pink Esthetic Scores (PES) and White Esthetic Scores (WES) values to the peri-implant soft tissue and implant denture in the photographs.A visual analog scale (VAS) was used to assess the level of patient satisfaction regarding the esthetic outcome.The correlations between the PES value and WES value,VAS and PES value,VAS and WES value,were calculated.Results:The (mean±SD) PES value and WES value were (10.08±1.68),(7.82±1.02),respectively.VAS value ranged from 6 to 10,whose (mean±SD) was (8.28±1.21).The statistical analysis revealed significant positive correlations between the PES value and WES value,VAS and PES value,VAS and WES value (r=0.57,P＜0.001; r=0.487,P＜0.001; r=0.292,P=0.040,respectively).Conclusions:The restoration of implant single crown in the esthetic area can satisfy patients' esthetic requisition.The white esthetic is related to the pink esthetic of implants.Objective criteria like PES and WES may reflect the patient' s subjective opinion about the outcome of therapy.关键词
