Abstract
Objective To explore the expression of serum matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and tissue inhibitor of metalioproteinases-1 (TIMP-1) in patients with moyamoya disease (MMD) and their relationship with intracranial hemorrhage.Methods The levels of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 in 26 MMD patients with intracranial hemorrhage (hemorrhage group),21 MMD patients without hemorrhage (no hemorrhage group) and 25 normal controls (normal control group) were detected,and the results were compared.Results Compared with normal control group,the levels of serum MMP-9 and TIMP-1 in hemorrhage group and no hemorrhage group were significantly higher (all P ＜ 0.01).Compared with no hemorrhage group,MMP-9/TIMP-1 in hemorrhage group was significantly higher (P ＜ 0.05).There was no significant difference in levels of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 between hemorrhage group and no hemorrhage group.There were positive correlation between the levels of TIMP-I and MMP-9 in hemorrhage group and no hemorrhage group (r =0.626,r =0.645 ; all P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion Expression of serum MMP-9 and TIMP-1 were significantly higher in MMD patients.Imbalance of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 maybe an important reason for intracranial hemorrhage in MMD.关键词
