Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical features of neurosyphilis.Methods The clinical data of 22 neurosyphilis patients were analyzed retrospectively.Results There were 17 males and 5 females in this group.The initial symptoms were decrease of intelligence in 10 cases,psychiatric symptoms in 4 cases,stroke-like episodes in 3 cases,seizures in 2 cases,headache in 2 cases,weakness of lower limbs in 1 case.The main symptoms were stroke-like episodes in 4 cases,decrease of intelligece 12 cases,psychiatric symptoms in 10 cases,seizures in 7 cases,somnipathy in 6 cases,headache in 4 cases,weakness of lower limbs in 1 case.The Rapid Plasma Reagin (RPR)and treponema pallidum hemagglutination assay (TPPA) were positive in 22 patients.Seventeen cases were checked RPR and TPPA in CSF.RPR were positive in 15 cases,and TPPA were positive in 16 cases.Leukocyte counts and protein levels in CSF were increased in 18 cases.EEG checked in 17 cases showed that 8 cases were abnormal,and there were widely slow waves in whole brain.MRI checked in 20 cases showed that 19 cases were abnormal,and it mainly involved in the cortex and subcortical white as high T1 and high T2 signal.After treatment with large dose penicillin,symptoms of 20 cases were partial remission,and there were 2 cases of recurrence.Conclusion Neurophysilis is mainly in the middle-aged men.Main clinical symptoms are decrease of intelligence and mental symptom.TPPA and RPR in blood and CSF are positive.The leukocyte counts and protein levels of CSF are increased.关键词
