Abstract
A novel type of brazed plate heat exchanger developed by Danfoss was introduced. Tests of single phase heat transfer and evaporation with refrigerant R410a were performed. Performance on heat transfer and pressure drop for the dimple plate heat exchanger and the traditional herringbone plate heat exchanger were investigated experimentally. It is shown that the dimple plate heat exchanger has a better performance on heat transfer and pressure drop as a single phase heat transfer device. To compare with the herringbone plate heat exchanger under large Re numbers, the heat transfer performance in the dimple plate heat exchanger increases by more than 20%, and the frictional factor decreases to about 1/4 of that for the herringbone structure. Furthermore, good performance on heat transfer and pressure drop was also found in the evaporation tests. The performance of heat transfer and pressure drop would be enhanced for the cases of large Re numbers of the refrigerant.关键词
