Abstract
Flow cytometric immunophenotyping (FCI) has become an indispensable approach for the diagnosis, classifica-tion, staging, and monitoring of B cell lymphoma. In conjunction with many other new techniques, this technique can be used to detect neoplastic cells with high sensitivity and specificity and it can be done within several hours. By using this technique, B-lymphocytes can be recognized by expression of lineage-associated antigens, the stages of maturation and belonging to dif-ferent biologic compartments;neoplastic B-cells can be distinguished from reactive B-cells by demonstration of immunoglobu-lin light chain restriction or phenotypic aberrancy;and the phenotype of the neoplastic cells can be used to identify one of the distinct disease entities. In addition, visualization of minimal residual disease, lymphoma specific antigen expression and intracel-lular signaling have played an increasing role in accessing treatment response, relapse and optimization of therapeutic strategies.关键词
