Abstract
Aimed at the phenomenon of shrinkage defects in ram castings of ductile iron in CNC machine tools,combined with actual production conditions,three simulation progresses were designed with the finite element simulation software Procast to show the influence of changing pouring temperature and using external chills on solidification process and shrinkage defects.The results indicate that the quality of large machine tool castings can be improved by reducing pouring temperature and setting chills on the large setions,which can shorten the solidification time and decrease the shrinkage defects.The predicted sections where shrinkage defects may appear are partly according with practical production,which can provide theoretical basis for optimizing casting process parameters.关键词
