Abstract

[Objective] The method for the preparation of the silicon-iron-peach (Fe2O3/SiO2) ceramic pigment by using the rice husk ash was studied,and it is hoped for supplying a new route to broaden the comprehensive utilization of the rice husk ash.[Method] Firstly,the rice husk ash was used for the preparation of the sodium silicate,and then the obtained sodium silicate were used as the raw materials for the sol-gel synthesis of the Fe2O3/SiO2 powders.In this process,microwave was used for the drying of the Fe2O3/SiO2 powders.The effects of the mol ratio of Fe/Si,time and powder of microwave irradiation,and the sintering temperature on encapsulation rate of Fe2O3/SiO2 were studied.[Result] The optimal parameters for the synthesis of Fe2O3/SiO2 were listed as follows:the mol ratio of Fe/Si is 7∶ 1,then microwave radiated for 8 min with a power of 600 W,subsequently,sintered at 750 ℃ for 2 h to obtain Fe2O3/SiO2 ceramic pigment.The results indicated that the encapsulation rate of Fe2O3/SiO2 can reach 93.1%.[Conclusion] The method is easy to operate,and the encapsulation rate of the Fe2O3/SiO2 powders is more excellent than the current commercial products.
