Application of high frequency color Doppler ultrasonography in diagnosis of child intussusceptions

Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical application value of high frequency color Doppler ultrasonography (HFCDU) in diagnosis of child intussusceptions.Methods The imaging data of 64 children with intussusception confirmed by air enema and/or surgery was retrospectively analyzed.The diagnostic conditions and image quality of high-frequency and low-frequency color Doppler ultrasonography were compared.Results HFCDU revealed that all children had single set of the intussusceptions,the intussusceptions of 61 cases (95.31％) were located in the right abdomen and 3 cases (4.69％) in the left upper abdomen.Sixty-two cases (96.88％) were treated with air enema several times by X-ray,while 9 cases (2.25 ％) were given surgical treatment.The diagnostic coincidence rate and high-quality and good-quality images of HFCDU were markedly higher than those of low-frequency color Doppler ultrasonography,and low-quality ones obviously lower than low-frequency color Doppler ultrasonography.The difference had statistical significance.Conclusion HFCDU can quickly and accurately diagnose child intussusceptions and make clear blood supply of stacked intestinal wall.Its image quality is markedly better than the low-frequency ultrasound,so it can be used as an optimal examination method for child intussusceptions.关键词
