Abstract
Objective To investigate the somatotype characteristics in patients with chronic metabolic diseases.Methods By employing Heath-Carter method,the somatotype of 1 241 Han people (625 males and 616 females) working at a district government was measured and assessed,and a grouping comparison made in terms of health condition,gender and age.Results The somatotype in patients with hypertension was 6.3-4.5-1.4 in male and 8.0-3.9-1.3 in female; that in those with hyperlipidemia was 6.3-4.5-1.5 and 7.7-3.4-1.7; that with diabetes was 6.6 4.7-1.4 and 8.5-4.3-0.7.The differences of each factor between diseasedgroup and the control were significant (t=2.13-7.63,P＜0.05).Conclusion The somatotype of chronic-metabolic-disease patients have a higher value of intrinsic factor and in factor,which belongs to the meso-endomorphy category.关键词
