摘要

Abstract

Hall electric propulsion technology has been widely used by foreign GEO platforms for performance improving.USA's new generation military communication satellite,AEHF,has equipped with 5kW class multi-mode Hall electric propulsion system for partial orbit raising after liftoff and orbit keeping,which result in a mass gain in excess of 908kg.The Hall electric propulsion system can realize multimode such as high thrust or high specific impulse which can be used flexibly,adaptively,and to improve the satellite pointing accuracy.Because of the failure of AEHF-1 apogee engine,Hall electric propulsion system was used for major orbit raising in the rescue mission,saving the satellite of more than $ 2 billion and ensuring its planned 14-year life,which shows the comprehensive advantage of Hall electric propulsion.The application of Hall electric propulsion on AEHF satellites and in AEHF-1 rescue mission provides important inspiration to the domestic Hall electric propulsion development.
