Abstract

Through the studies of the relationship between outgoing longwave radiation (OLR)and sea surface temperature (SST),their relevance was discussed.The results showed that SST was positively correlated with OLR when SST was lower than 28 ℃.While SST was above 28 ℃,the correlation was opposite ,28℃was the inflection point of the relationship between SST and OLR.The abnormal of OLR reflected that of the convective activity.The variation of the intensity and distribution of convective activity necessarily caused that of tropical heat source ,and affected the circulation. The synthetic analysis of El Nino and La Nina events showed that the relationship between OLR and SST was close with the formation of the atmospheric circulation anomalies.Because of the inflection point between OLR and SST ,it existed different convection positions between these two events ,which also confirmed that the SST was a key factor to convection.
