Abstract
In the twentieth century the motivation of American aesthete, Susan Lange's theory on "forms of life" in art includes the criticism and revision of porpular formalist's literary theory and criticism of semantics, the transformation and transcendence of Bell's theory on "signified forms", criticism and reflection on "self-expression theory"of art, the inheritance and development of Cassirer's theory on "forms of life". Thus, it makes "forms of life"theory develop into a new stage.关键词
