Dynamic modeling for forging system considering plastic deformation of workpiece

Abstract
A modified model is presented to predict the dynamic responses of the forging system during the forging process,where an elastic-plastic discrete spring model is adopted to simulate the contact interaction between the workpiece and forging dies considering the plastic deformation of workpiece.The dynamic control equation of the forging system subj ected to a forging operation is obtained by combining the finite element method (FEM)and Lagrange equation.A comparison between the results by the explicit FEM of the commercial software LS-DYNA simulations and other results of the previous work is carried out to validate the proposed model.It is shown that the contact boundary condition has significant influence on the dynamic responses of the forging system and the plastic deformation should not be ignored for an accurate calculation of the responses.关键词
