Abstract

The fast response thermal unit can provide reserve service, so it is one of the most effective means to promote the accommodation of large-scale wind power and solve the trouble in power grid security caused by the intermittence and fluctuation of wind energy. Both the uncertainty of parameters of fast response thermal units and the uncertainty of system dispatching level under the background of grid-integration of large-scale wind farm, which the planning of fast response thermal units has to be faced with, are analyzed, and a secure and economic planning model for fast response thermal units is constructed. The minimization of total planned cost is taken as the objective function of the constructed model and using Benders decomposition algorithm the objective function is divided into one main problem and two sub-problems:the main problem is a mixed integer linear programming problem, in which the reliability is not considered, and the two sub-problems are linear programming problems, in which the reliability problem and optimal operation problem are considered respectively. The reasonability of the constructed model and the feasibility of the proposed algorithm are validated by calculation results of a 6-bus system.
