Abstract

Weaning piglets were fed with specific egg yolk immunoglobulin (IgY)antibodies against porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV)and porcine circovirus type 2(PCV-2)-Cap protein, of which on growth performance and immunity was investigated.The results indicated that PRRSV and PCV-2 antibody negative rate was higher 15% and 5% in 0.5% groups than that of in blank groups at 53 days of age,respectively.Compared with blank groups,S/P average value of positive PRRSV antibody ti-ter in 0.5% groups decreased 15.59% and 24.53% over 53 and 60 days of age,respectively.During 46 to 60 days of age,SP average value of postive PCV-2 antibody titer of 0.5% groups were lower 15.42%, 19.66%and 12.70% than that of in blank groups,respectively.Compared with blank groups,finial body weight,daily weight gain and survival rate of 0.5% groups were improved 12.74% (P < 0.01),16.90%(P < 0.01)and 1.67% at weaning piglets,respectively.The expressions of PRRSV antigen in 0.5%groups were abolished in jejunum and small intestine with immunohistochemistry analysing,compared with the blank groups.The special IgY additive could provide a novel alternative approach to prevent and control diseases caused by PRRSV and PCV-2 infection in pigs.
