红细胞指数鉴别婴幼儿血红蛋白H病和缺铁性贫血的作用评价
Evaluation of the reliability of RBC indices in discriminating between Hb H disease and iron deifciency anemia in infants

Abstract
Objectives To evaluate the reliability of RBC indices in discriminating between Hb H disease and iron deficiency anemia (IDA) in infants.Methods Seventy-seven patients with Hb H disease and 108 patients with IDA were enrolled in this study. RBC indices were calculated by 7 kinds of formulas. Sensitivity, specificity and Youden's index of these RBC indices for predicting Hb H were also evaluated. Results Comparing the patients' RBC parameters between Hb H disease and IDA groups, high RBC levels were found in the former while highe MCV and MCH in the latter. However, there was no significant difference in Hb level between the two groups. Among seven RBC indices, Green and King Index (GKI) showed the highest sensitivity (90.7%) and Youden's index (80.3%). Conclusion Seven kinds of formulas for RBC index calculation can be used to discriminate between Hb H disease and IDA, and GKI index appears most reliable among them.关键词
