摘要

Abstract

Intelligent transportation system (ITS) is one of the forefronts of modern transportation technol-ogy and it has been applied at home and abroad. With the development of a new generation of information &communication technology (ICT) and changes of traveler demand, the different ITS technology direction and ser-vice application are appearing. Firstly, the recent ITS technology developments and application cases are analyzed in this paper. Then the technical characteristics of the next generation ITS is analyzed, including:the connecting between various traffic entities, vehicle’s identification of the neighboring environment, new type of traffic infor-mation collection and service, traffic data, automatic driving, etc. Finally, this paper puts forward some sugges-tions on the development of the next generation ITS, including:to accelerate the marketization, to establish a new model of ITS standardization and to strengthen the development of cutting-edge technology.
