甜菜碱对大鼠酒精性肝病的治疗作用
Therapeutic effect of betaine on alcoholic liver disease in rats

Abstract
Objective:To study the thera peutic effect of betaine on a lcoholic liver disease in rats and investigate its potenti al mechanism. Methods:The rat alcoholic liver disease model was made by feeding alcohol for 4 weeks.Then betaine was administered to these rats in a dose of 200,400 and 800 mg/kg for 4 weeks in which the content of serum total homocysteine (tHcy),serum aminotransferase activity(ALT,AST),the level of MDA,GSH in hepatic tissues were measured,the hepatic histological change were observed. Results:The level of serum tHcy,ALT,AST and hepatic tissue contents of MDA in betaine treated groups were significantly decreased (P<0.05), while the level of GSH was significantly increased as compared with that in the model group (P<0.05). Moreover:The histological evaluation of liver demonstrated that betaine dramatically decreased lipid accumulation and inflammatory cells infiltration . Conclusion:Betaine is effective in treating rats alcoholic liver disease,and its main mechanisms might be related to reduction of correcting methionine circulation anomalies and sulfonium function abnormal.关键词
