Temporal Evolution of Market Integration and Regional Specialization in China：1980~2011---Based on Empirical Study of Chinese Manufacturing

Abstract
In this paper ,under the basic framework of the new economic geography ,with large geographical area as study unit and the 25-year time series data ,we study the regional specialization development trend of Chinese manufacturing from 1980 to 2011 , and carried out international comparisons .We found that ,as increasing levels of China's market integration ,the movements of relative special-ization index and Krugman specialization index of areas manufacturing were tested inverted U -shaped trend from 1980 to 2011 .This is in line with the predictions of new economic geography theoretical .The regional specialization trend of Chinese manufacturing can be divided into three stages ,the level of market integration has begun to advance from intermediate to senior and the level of regional specialization has begun to decline .Now the regional specialization development level of Chinese manufacturing is below the U.S .,but not less than the EU countries .关键词
