Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of metformin hydrochloride on the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetic neuropathy and it influence on oxidative stress. Methods Ninety patients with type 2 diabetic neuropathy from May 2008 to February 2013 in our hospital were selected ,according to random number table method they were randomly divided into treat-ment group and control group ,with 45 cases in each group.the treatment group were given metformin and mecobalamin ,the control group were given nateglinide and mecobalamine ,the course was 3 months ,the clinical efficacy ,the degree of improve-ment of neuropathy and the changes of oxidative stress index of two groups were compared.Results After 3 months of treat-ment ,the total effective rate of treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group (χ2 =8.421 ,P<0.01);before treatment ,blood sugar index such as FBG ,PBG ,HbAlc ,the index of nerve conduction MNCV ,SNCV ,the index of oxidative stress MDA ,SOD and TAOC of two groups showed no significant difference (P>0.05).After 3 months of treat-ment ,the indexes mentioned above ,had significant differences comparing with those of before treatment and those of control group in the same period (P< 0.05) ,with statistical significance.Conclusion Metformin can obviously improve neuropathy and oxidative stress of the type 2 diabetic patients ,reduce blood sugar ,improve the clinical symptoms and signs ,and promote nerve conduction velocity.关键词
