Abstract

The large-scale access of wind power generation to the distribution network makes it become the active network and affects the correct action of the fast transfer devices. This paper takes a 6 kV terminal substation of a petrochemical plant with the wind power generation connected for example, builds a simulation model by the EDSA software and analyzes the influence on fast transfer caused by the wind power generation (permanent magnet synchronous generators and double fed induction generator). The simulation results show that it’s helpful for fast transfer while the reactive power of permanent magnet synchronous generators is smaller than that of the loads. However, it needs to modify the available transfer criterion because the bus voltage will grow up or may exceed the protection setting value of the device when the reactive power of permanent magnet synchronous generators is larger than that of the loads. The situation that the active power of double fed induction generators is larger or smaller than that of the loads is not helpful for fast transfer. Meanwhile, this paper presents an improved fast transfer criterion for the power system with the wind power generation:adding the upper limit's constraint of bus voltage in the available transfer criterion for the power system with the permanent magnet synchronous generators;and enlarging the lower limit's constraint of bus voltage in the available transfer criterion for the power system with the double fed induction generator.
