Abstract
Objective To revise University-students Social Skill Inventory based on the latest definition on social skill and explore the factors affecting social skill among university student in China .Methods By clustering sample method ,9 comprehensive universities in china were selected based on administrative division ,and then 1916 college students from these 10 universities were investigated based on convenience sampling.The even group(n=958)was assessed by exploratory factor analysis (EFA)to ascertain the factor structure of questionnaire,while the odd group(n=958)was assessed by confirmative factor analysis (CFA)to test and verify the dimensions obtained before,respectively.Chinese College Students Version of Buss -Perry Aggression Questionnaire(CC-BPAQ)was used as criterions to test validity.196 students from one school were chosen for re -test 2 weeks later.The influencing factors were set to be "gender","whether they are the only child","academic year","liberal arts or science major"and"whether they join club activities in school".Re-sults By means of EFA,3 factors(total of 34 items),namely"thoughtful","sociability"and"social shyness",were extracted to devel-op a Revised Chinese University-students Social Skill Inventory ( RChUSSI ) .CFA and criterion analysis were used to examine this new model and indicated a relatively high compatibility between this model and sample data .The scale of the internal consistency reliability was 0.94,and the 3 subscales were between 0.86~0.93.The test-retest internal consistency reliability on the 169 students was 0.86 for the total scale,and 0.76~0.88 for the 3 subscales.After analyzing the social skill actuality among college student in Chinese Univer -sities,it was found that there was no obvious discrepancy in "gender","whether they are only child","academic year"and"liberal arts or science major".On the other hand ,students who joined club activities in school did not just obtain higher points in the 3 subscales but the points grew stably from lower grade to higher grade .Conclusion The results demonstrated that the Revised Chinese University-students Social Skill Inventory is reliable and valid ,and can be used as a tool for measuring college student's social skill.The results also suggest that club activities in school play a major role in improving social skill among college students .关键词
