A Portable B-mode Ultrasound Imaging Method Using Synthetic Focusing

Abstract
In order to solve the problem that Synthetic Focusing(SF) ultrasound imaging method, which needs dealing with large amount of data in image reconstruction process, is restricted when applied into portable B-mode ultrasound equipments, this paper proposes a portable B-mode ultrasound imaging method named SFCS based on compressive sensing theory and SF beam forming algorithm. By using traditional SF beam forming method, subsampled RF lines can be acquired from the subsampled measurement signal that is random sampled from raw RF echo signal. Based on compressive sensing theory, RF lines can be reconstructed from the subsampled ones for subsequent imaging processing. Simulation result shows that SFCS can effectively address the data size problem that SF ultrasound imaging always confronts. Since SFCS can meet the requirement that portable B-mode ultrasound equipment must be miniaturization and low cost, it has practical engineering application value.关键词
