摘要

Abstract

In light of the issue of fast large-scale seabed terrain rendering,we present the terrain generation method which is based on combining the geometrical mipmapping (GeoMipMap)algorithm with fractal algorithm,and use the methods of vertex-index and stratified blocking to organise terrain data.The method divides 3D seabed terrain into sub-blocks,through visibility discrimination only those sub-blocks within visual area are displayed.At the same time a simplified criterion based on block and view-point is set up,and the way of eliminating cracks between the terrain blocks with different detailed layers is presented through the criterion in order to make sure that no necessary details will be lost in terrain streamlining process.Simulation experimental result proves that the research outcome can effectively realise real-time terrain rendering.
