摘要

Abstract

Raining is an important natural phenomenon.Simulation of raining will greatly improve the reality of virtual scene,and the particle system is an effective way to simulate raining.To solve the shortage of previous simulation method,we put forward a new approach for the simulation of raining in large-scale roaming terrain.First,a proper raindrop particle model is built by analysing the actions of the rain;then,the utilisation rate of particles is improved by generating the raindrop particles in polar coordinates.Finally,the interference of the wind on raindrops is calculated so that the verisimilar movement process of raindrops is simulated.Experimental results show that the raining scene in large-scale roaming terrain generated with this method is real,natural and with high real-time performance,it has certain applied value.
