Abstract
To understand the effects of background colors, starvation, drop heights and drop postures on the behaviors of death-feigning in Ochyromera ligustri, the frequency and the duration of death-feigning under different color backgrounds, starvation conditions, drop heights and drop postures were compared. The results showed as follows: (1) there were significant differences in the frequency of death-feigning under red, green and yellow backgrounds (76.67%, 83.33% and 90.00%, respectively). But no significant duration difference was showed under different color backgrounds (49.52 s, 25.76 s and 56.19 s, respectively);(2) the frequency of feeding group (90.00%) is significantly higher than that of starvation group (50.00%);the duration of feeding group (45.19 s) is insignificantly longer than that of starvation group (30.07 s);(3) no significant difference in the frequency and duration was showed on different drop height. The frequency was 76.67%, 86.67% and 86.67%, respectively, and the duration was 40.22 s, 39.08 s and 51.19 s, respectively, when the drop height was 10cm, 20cm and 30cm, respectively; (4) the frequency of back-up group (100.00%) was significantly higher than that of back-down group (70.59%). The duration of back-up group (52.00 s) was significantly longer than that of back-down group (24.58 s). All these results indicated that the behaviors of death-feigning in O. ligustri varied with different background colors, feeding or non-feeding, different drop heights and different drop postures.关键词
