Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of the Chevron osteotomy for the treatment of patients with hal-lux valgus who had conservative treatment failure and to evaluate its effectiveness.Methods 15 patients were treated by Chevron osteotomy.They all had invalid results with more than six months of conservative treatment.Results 14 patients were followed up(ranged,6 to 24 months).After surgery,patients′s symptoms such as pain were signifi-cantly improved,the outward appearance of foots had improved.Used AOFAS (enacted by the American Foot and Ankle Society foot toe-the metatarsophalangeal joints-interphalangeal joint function scoring system),the mean score was significantly increased from (56.2 ±5.6 )points preoperatively to (85.3 ±4.5 )points postoperatively (P<0.05 ).Conclusions The Chevron osteotomy is effective for hallux valgus who have conservative treatment failure. After the surgery,the symptoms improves significantly,and the short-term effect is good.关键词
