Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical significance of Ommaya reservoir implantation combined with external ventricular drainage in severe intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH).Methods 46 patients admitted from February 2007 to February 2012 were classified into two groups , Ommaya reservoir combined with external ventrieular drainage group and only external ventricular drainage group.The complications and prognosis of two groups of patients were analyzed comparatively .Results Hydrocephalus and intracranial infection of Ommaya reservoir group were significantly lower than only external ventricular drainage group (P <0.05).Ommaya reservoir group treatment efficiency was higher than simple external ventrieular drainage group (P<0.05).Conclusions Ommaya reservoir combined with external ventrieular drainage can reduce the incidence of intracranial infection and hydrocephalus of severe IVH .It is a safe and effective treatment for intraventricular hemorrhage .关键词
