Abstract
Based on Chinese and native speakers’ corpora,“very”in the writings of Chi-nese EFL learners was analyzed in order to find out the difference in using this word in the writings of native speakers and those of Chinese EFL learners as well as the differenc-es in using this word among learners of different proficiency levels and the possible fac-tors. Findings shows that Chinese EFL learners tend to overuse the word, avoid the colloca-tion of“very+noun”and produce the inappropriate pattern of“very+verb”. The study as-cribes them to the influence of negative language transfer.关键词
