摘要
Abstract
China's traditional Confucian ethics often put morality in the first place, neglect-ing talent in evaluating officials. But in The Notes of Yuewei Cottage, Ji Yun proposed that corrupt officials be accused constantly, officials without talent be blamed and officials must possess both ability and moral integrity. Emperor Kangxi’s stress on official character produced many honest yet idle officials. In order to improve the administrative efficiency of officials, Emperor Yongzheng paid more attention to talent. As a result, "there were no honest officials in Yongzheng period". Emperor Qianlong attached importance to both moral-ity and talent, requiring officials to be good at both. The official images in The Notes of Yuewei Cottage are Ji Yun's elaboration on Qian Long’s official concept.关键词
