Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of a short-term clinical training course on improving empathy capacity for higher vocational nursing interns. Methods A test-retest experimental study was designed and 120 vocational nursing students were recruited to participate in the training course, which included strengthening professional ethics, emotional empathy and behavior empathy. Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI-C) was used to investigate the empathy capacity before and after the training. Results The total score of IRI-C was significantly improved after the training (P<0.01). The empathetic concern didn’t show significant changes after the training (P>0.05);while the perspective taking, fantasy and personal distress improved significantly (P<0.05). Conclusion The short-term clinical training course can improve the empathy capacity of higher vocational nursing interns.关键词
