Problems in Training for Nursing Staff in Class II Hospitals in Xinjiang and Its Countermeasures

Abstract
Objective To study the problems in training for nursing staff in Class II hospitals in Xinjiang, and discuss the main influencing factors and to provide suggestions for future training strategy. Methods A self-designed questionnaire was applied to investigate 1 216 nurses from 27 Class II hospitals randomly. Results Main problems of training for nursing staff involved busy work (70.0%), lack of qualified teachers (64.5%), insufficient funding (48.0%), lack of motivation (39.3%), insufficient recognition of leadership (32.0%) and low professional level (28.9%), which accounted for 79.0% of the overall factors. There were statistical differences between Han nationality nursing staff and Uyghur nationality nursing staff in busy job and fund difficulty ( P<0.05). Conclusion In Class II hospitals of Xinjiang, problems still exist in training for nursing staff, which suggests that reasonable practical training plan, targeted training strategy are critical for the training so as improve the whole nursing level in Class II hospitals of Xinjiang.关键词
