Abstract
Objective To analyze the death anxiety of patients with colorectal cancer. Methods With convenience sampling, an investigation on death anxiety was conducted among 48 patients with colorectal cancer on admission day and discharge day respectively with Death Anxiety Inventory (Chinese version). Results The score of death anxiety was 4.00 ±2.92, which showed a relatively lower level of anxiety (t=3.51, P<0.01) and patients presented anxiety in scare about painful death and the thought about death. Gender difference existed in item one, seven and fourteen and scores from female were higher than those from male(P<0.05). The scores from patients with high score of death anxiety (scored≥7) on admission day decreased on discharge day (P<0.05). Conclusion The Chinese version of Death Anxiety Inventory was practical. Domestic colorectal cancer patients are with relatively low level of death anxiety. The scores from male patients in some items are lower than those from female patients and death anxiety scores of patients with high scores on admission day decrease on discharge day. More samples are needed for future representative study.关键词
