A Quantitative Analysis on Productivity of Scientific Paper for Highly Cited Scientists

Abstract
This paper makes a quantitative analysis on the productivity of scientific papers for highly cited scientists in 21 disciplines in ISI-HighlyCited database. The rank-frequency distribution and scale-frequency distribution of the numbers of published papers of the highly cited scientists in different fields are studied. The results show that the number of paper's rank-frequency is a negative exponential func-tion, moreover, two-thirds of highly cited scientists have published 100 to 400 articles in the database. The paper further studies the num-ber of papers published per year of highly cited scientists ( in all domains) and their distribution per country ( according to the institutional address) and domain ( using ISI-JCR categories) . It is found that this group of scientists publishes an average of 7 SCI articles per year, with, however, a considerable difference between countries and domains.关键词
