摘要

Abstract

The sinking working gate of Three Gorges ship lift is two leafs plate gate with a flap gate and it is important for navi-gation. The supporting span of the gate is large and it opens and closes frequently under high water pressure. According to other finished similar gates, there are some problems in the P-style water seal, such as serious leaking and abrasion. In order to solve the problem, pressure-filled telescopic water seal have been applied to the sinking working gate for the first time, and model test research was proposed to verify its working performance. The results show that the pressure-filled telescopic water seal on the sinking working gate can seal water perfectly with less abrasion in the process of gate operation, which provides some safe and re-liable engineering experience for the water seal design of the similar gate.
