摘要

Abstract

The reasoning, research and design process for South-to-North Water Diversion Project, especially the Middle Route Project is reviewed. The design difficulties during the main canal design are demonstrated, including canal route selection, canal crossing buildings and main canal design. And the study results of canal slope protection measures for expansive soil sec-tion, passing through coal mining area, the shield tunnel crossing Yellow River are presented in detail, at the same time the cor-responding measures are put forward according to the geological condition and equipment condition. The summarization is not only favorable for subsequent canal operation and maintenance, but also provides references for similar projects.
