摘要
Abstract
In order to investigate engineering properties and behavior of aeolian sand in Desert Wulanbuhe to be used as embankment material,such as physical and chemical properties,mechanical property,static and dynamic triaxial properties,permeability,compaction characteristics and com-pacting effect,a series of laboratory tests,field tests and large-scale testing compaction were performed. The results indicate that the aeolian sand is mainly composed of fine sand with minor silt and clay,homogenous,falls into SP (Poorly graded Sand),loose to slightly dense at the top and medium dense to dense at the lower. Double-peak curve is obtained in compaction tests,which indicates that a maximum value of dry density can be obtained at lower and optimum moisture contents. The results of testing compaction by optimum combination methods show that the aeolian sand has relative density up to 0. 76,silt and clay particles of less than 8% after compacting,internal friction angle of more than 30° and permeability coefficient of more than 1 × 10 -3 cm/s. Thus for lower grade dam structure and seismically stable region with lower intensity,aeolian sand can be used as soakage embankment material of dam.关键词
