平原地区农用地整理新增耕地潜力分析--以湖北省仙桃市为例
Analysis of the potential to increase the amount of cultivated land by agricultural land consolidation on the plains:the case of Xiantao City, Hubei province

Abstract
The comprehensive management of rural land is an important element of the strategic plan for developing the countryside during the new period. With the implementation of the national land remediation plan, the planning of local land remediation enters an important stage. Agricultural land consolidation is the key but remains dififcult for new arable land, and completion of the potential forecast is the prerequisite of the scientiifc land renovation plan. This paper presents a measurement method for newly increased cultivated land potential by analyzing the agricultural land consolidation on the plains, and measures the newly increased cultivated land area of agricultural land consolidation in Xiantao city, Hubei province. The results show that there is great potential for agricultural land consolidation in Xiantao city, and the coefifcient of newly-available cultivated land reached 30%. This is consistent with the results of ifeld surveys, indicating that, starting with the typical plots, it is possible to effectively predict the potential for making new land available for cultivation by agricultural land consolidation on the plains.关键词
