摘要

Abstract

Recent research advances in alkylation of toluene with methanol to para-xylene (PX) were summarized, including shape-selective catalytic mechanism, catalysts and process technologies. It was pointed that the key to commercial application for the technology of toluene alkylation with methanol to PX is to develop the catalysts with high activity, selectivity and stability, and and improve the process. The innovative process of PX and olefins coproduction in alkylation of toluene would have a bright future.
