Abstract
In some biographies of Historical Records, Sima Qian used the category biography t .But until now people cannot i-dentify which biographies belong to the category biography .Through analysis and exploration , this paper reaches a conclusion that there are all together eleven biographies in Historical Records that fall into the category biography .They are:The Queen's Family, The Biography oft he Assassins, The Biography of the Honest Government Officials, The Biography of the Scholars, The Biography of the Cruel Government Officials, The Biography of Paladins, The Biography of Sycophants, The Biography of the Jesters, The Biogra-phy of the Fortune Tellers, The Biography of Guice, The Biography of the Money-Makers.The character category biographies of Re-cords of the Historian have two distinctive features:comments before narration and the combination of details and omissions .关键词
