Optical band gap of Bi2 O3-B2 O3-RE2 O3 (RE=Ce,Tb) glasses
摘要
Abstract
Bi2 O3-B2 O3-RE2 O3 (RE= Ce ,Tb) glasses were prepared by melting method .Ur-bach energy and optical band gap of different rare earth ions glasses were calculated by classi-cal Urbach formula and Tauc equation ,and explore the relationship of Urbach energy and op-tical band gap .The results showed that the amount of non-bridging oxygen bond increases with the increase of rare earth ions ,which loose structure of glass ,and cause the decrease of electron transition energy and Urbach energy .As the polarization rate of the glasses increa-ses ,which increased the absorption edge and decreased the bond strength and optical band gap;meanwhile the optical band gap decreased linearly with the decrease of Urbach energy .关键词
