摘要
Abstract
Standard VRRP(virtual router redundancy protocol)can solve the problem of single point failure in the network under the condition of configuring a default gateway. However,the protocol itself is not flexible enough. That is,because only a master device in the virtual router participates the traffic retransmission and other backup routers do not perform traffic retrans-mission,this mechanism does not involve load balance,thus bandwidth and equipment utilization can not be maximized. To solve this problem,an enhanced VRRP method to achieve load balancing mechanism is discussed in this paper according to a project cooperating with a company. The virtual forwarder and forwarding state machine are added based on analysis of standard VRRP protocol,by which a mechanism that one virtual IP corresponds to several virtual MAC is realized without configuring more backup groups,and in which routing redundancy and traffic load balancing can be simultaneously achieved to make the users in a LAN communicate with the outside world through each virtual forwarder. Therefore,the method greatly improves re-source utilization. The experiment results verified the feasibility of the design.关键词
